FAQs

Q. About how long will my first visit take?

A. It depends on the reason for the visit. To allocate the appropriate length of time for your visit, you will be asked about the nature of your visit when you call for your appointment. This way, you may be assured of adequate time to discuss your concerns.

Q. What are your normal office hours?

A. Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, we are pleased to offer extended hours. At our Hillcrest Road office, we are open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays, and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, our office hours are are extended until 9 p.m. This is also when ultrasounds are performed.

Please inform our office staff if you need additional accommodations. We will be happy to attempt to accommodate your scheduling needs.

Q. Who will I see or talk to if my doctor is not available?

A. Dr. Simmons most likely will see or talk with you during normal office hours. Like anyone else, Dr. Simmons has to be away from his office occasionally. At such times, you may be assured that another qualified physician or assistant will be answering calls.

Q. Where is the parking for your office, and is there a parking charge?

A. At our Hillcrest Road & Duncanville offices, there is an open parking lot outside of the office with free parking.

Q. How can I pay for your services?

A. The responsibility for payment of the fees for medical and surgical care is your direct obligation. We request payment when you are seen. You may pay by Visa, MasterCard, check, or cash. For the managed care plans for which we are a preferred provider, we will collect co-payment amounts at the time of service. You will also be responsible for any coinsurance or deductible amounts that may be due.

Q. How do I know what insurance will cover for your services?

A. As a courtesy to our patients, we will contact the insurance company for an estimate of what the insurance plan will cover and how the service will be covered. Ultimately, the insurance company processes the claims and applies the benefits. However, as a service to our patients, we strive to verify this information prior to services being provided.

Q. What happens if I cannot make my appointment?

A. If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to reschedule or cancel so that other patients may use this time.

Q. Can I bring my children with me to my office visit?
