“Foundation Repair” – few words send chills and fear through homeowners more than these!
When I started Williamson Foundation Repair in 1985, I soon discovered that most people have an idea in their head of how much money foundation repair will cost. For some reason, most people seem to believe there is a “minimum” amount for any foundation repair issue, and that the cost can only go up from there.
In the late 1980s that “magic number” seemed to be $10,000. I never could quite figure out where that number came from. But time and time again, homeowners told me they thought foundation repair costs started at $10,000 or more. Many people admitted they had delayed even having a foundation inspection (a FREE inspection, by the way!) for several years due to the fear of the cost and the belief that they could not afford foundation repair. In most cases, the delay in addressing the foundation issue actually allowed the problem to worsen – which ended up costing the homeowner more than they originally would have paid to address and correct the issue.
By the early 2000s, that “magic number” increased to $20,000. And now, as we approach the year 2020, that “magic number” seems to have crept up to $30,000 and, at times, even $50,000.
This fear over the cost of foundation repair is an ever-present issue for homeowners and, unfortunately, causes many homeowners to delay calling a foundation repair company in hopes that the problem will magically rectify itself. After all… no news is good news, right?
But we at Williamson Foundation Repair are here to tell you – FEAR NOT!
While many people fear foundation repair will cost $10,000, $20,000, $30,000 or more, the truth is that the average foundation repair job performed by Williamson Foundation Repair in 2018 cost just under $5,700. And many people took advantage of our 18-month interest-free financing (with approved credit) to help ease that burden even more.
So don’t let the fear of an unmanageable expense keep you from addressing your foundation issues before they worsen. Addressing the issue early will help minimize both cosmetic damages and the cost of repair.
